Teenager to play Michael Jackson in London’s West End …

December 8, 2008

Whilst Michael Jackson needs no introduction, Kieran Alleyne may…

That could be about to change however, as the youngster, from Eyres Monsell in Leicestershire, has been picked to play the famous singer in the stage based story of Michael Jackson, starting with his early appearances within the Jackson Five, and progressing right through to his solo career.

Kieran will be one of three actors to play the part, who will be taking it in turns to pull on the afro head gear and 70s costumes throughout the performance.

At the open auditions that were held for the part, Kieran beat around 60 other budding stars. The auditions were held at Abington School.

Kieran, who is a long time fan of ‘Wacko Jacko’, feels that being chosen for the role is like having a dream come true. Maybe not so exciting is the fact that Kieran has already been assigned a private school tutor, to ensure that his school work doesn’t suffer as a side effect of this ‘dream role’.

The other two successful young actors sharing the role are Sterling Williams from South London, and Layton Williams from Grtr Manchester.

Below is a brief Video about the new show.

The director for the show is Gary Lloyd, the award winning choreographer, and the show opens at the Lyric Theatre, in London’s West End on January 2nd.

On a side note; it may be surprising to know that the ‘real’ king of pop has now turned the 50 mark… that’s right! On 29th August ‘08, ‘Wacko Jacko’ turned the big 5-0
