A Youth Theatre group, based in St. Ives, Cornwall, Kidz R Us has its own theatre, and not just a small village hall type affair, it’s a 321 seat theatre in the centre of St. Ives. Kids R Us was initially setup well over 10 yrs ago, and was initially a one off show to raise funds for a Save The Children fund at the Guildhall in St. Ives.
Following the success of that first night, Kidz R Us was born. Since then the group has gone from strength to strength, and now the aim of the group is to give young people in the surrounding areas to get involved with stage performances, and develop their talents, especially in the Musical Theatre genre.
Kidz R Us has received various awards, and has built up a bed of critical acclaim that any theatre group would be proud of.
The Kidz Theatre group has even managed to win the much coveted Minack Trophy in 1995, and the year following this, it won the National operatic and Dramatic Association’s Regional Award for Excellence.
The vast majority of the Kidz R Us shows are performed within the environs of St. Ives, although sometimes the Kidz are invited to more venues, everything in fact from the Royal Albert Hall to the London Palladium!
