It has been reported that former Big Brother housemate Stuart Hosking has been in talks with Andrew Lloyd Webber about his plans to develop a West End musical based on the reality show, complete with live voting from the audience. Hardly a shining ambassador for the show, unpopular Hoskling was the second housemate evicted from 2001’s Big Brother 2 with an enormous 85% of the public vote. Talking to the Daily Star, Hosking said, “After all, they turned Jerry Springer into an opera, so why not Big Brother?”

One of the biggest hits, despite the unlikelihood of it being so, is Spamalot. The show is based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail, a film from 1975. Eric Idle, an original Python, adapted the hit after writing the book. The music was co-written with John Du Prez.

The original Pythons completely support the show and many attended the opening night of the show. Additionally the voice of God is played by John Cleese, an original Python.

Tom Morris is set to become the artistic director at the Old Vic Theatre in Bristol. Emma Stenning will be the executive director.

Mr. Morris is not new to working with Emma Stenning, previously they both help the same positions at the Battersea Arts Centre.

The pair will take up their new positions from September, after working out their current positions.

One of the world’s best known television personalities is taking to the stage, as Jerry Springer makes his West End debut in Chicago in June. Following the West End’s current trend in unusual casting that has seen fellow TV presenter Graham Norton dragging up as Zaza in La Cage Aux Folles at the Playhouse and pop star Gareth Gates take on the lead in Joseph at the Adelphi after only one previous stage role, Jerry will be playing Billy Flynn, a role previously played by such stage stars as Clarke Peters, Sach Distel and Henry Goodman.

May 2009 looks to be the completion date for the Brentwood Theatre overhaul, with the builders moving in next week to start the last stage of the work.

The project as a whole will have taken nearly four years in total, and includes new washrooms, a galley kitchen and a multi use space (suitable for use as a dance studio, rehearsal area, or even a 40 seat mini theatre) - Not to mention a new Theatre office.

A Youth Theatre group, based in St. Ives, Cornwall, Kidz R Us has its own theatre, and not just a small village hall type affair, it’s a 321 seat theatre in the centre of St. Ives. Kids R Us was initially setup well over 10 yrs ago, and was initially a one off show to raise funds for a Save The Children fund at the Guildhall in St. Ives.

A community arts group based in Cambridgeshire works hard at serving the community and helping local development.

Viva Arts & Community Group started out back in ‘97, under the name of ‘Viva Youth’. From here it has developed into a much larger group, that promotes community development and Youth Theatre, and is a registered charity.

It is felt by many that ‘The Arts’ are the preserve of the upper or ruling classes, usually of middle age, and are far beyond the reach or comprehension of the ‘Average Joe’, let alone the average teenager or young adult. The Arts Council has a new scheme aimed at changing that.

A Night Less Ordinary is a scheme launched by the Arts Council, aim at encouraging more under 26 year olds to visit live stage performances.

Jet Set GO! the comedic story of the lives and experiences of an airline cabin crews premiered at the ‘08 Edinburgh Festival. The show is now set to transfer to the Jermyn Street theatre in April 09.

The show has already had its debut in London, showing at Theatre503, in Sept 08.
