Cambridgeshire Based Community Arts Group Aims to Help Local Development.

February 16, 2009

A community arts group based in Cambridgeshire works hard at serving the community and helping local development.

Viva Arts & Community Group started out back in ‘97, under the name of ‘Viva Youth’. From here it has developed into a much larger group, that promotes community development and Youth Theatre, and is a registered charity.

The Theatre part of this group, aptly named the ‘Viva Theatre Company’ is an exciting adult drama, which happens to be based on Soham, but is open to anyone over 21 years old. This adult theatre group focuses on the production of theatre plays by established writers, and takes a fast track approach to stage production, which enables even the busiest people to get involved quickly, and without too much commitment on their part.

The actual Viva centre is located in a renovated ex Chapel, very close to Soham centre, and it’s whole design is based around offering a service to the community. Visitors can find advice, information and learning resources, and the centre aims to be a ‘one stop shop’ for training, workshops and local meetings.

Anyone interested in joining the Viva group, or indeed taking part in a play (either acting or as part of the production team) should contact the Viva website for more details.
